Like many high-achieving people, I am very hard on myself. I am guilt of putting the weight of the several worlds on my back all in the name of self sacrifice for the development of other and/or later successes for myself. This, obviously, isn’t helpful or healthy, so I needed to do a reevaluation of who I am and who I want to be. I went through a 4-week course at my church, Victory World Church (Midtown), called “FORWARD.” There is so. much. that I could say about this revelatory program, but what applies to the topic at hand is this:

In a day where we are told to look into ourselves to find out who we are, I’d challenge us to go one step deeper and say, “Who does God say you are?” We as humans are limited; God is infinite. I’d want His understanding over my own ANY👏🏽DAY👏🏽! The enemy cannot “steal” our identity; he tries to make us doubt our true identity. If you are not intentional about letting God define you, culture will aggressively try to change you. And for every lie we have believed about ourselves, God has a bigger, more powerful truth about us. I don’t know about y’all, but God gets the final say over who I am. I couldn’t know who I was until I knew WHOSE I was. So here I go:

- I am a child of God. (Galatians 3:36)

- I am an heir of the kingdom. (Romans 8:16-17)

- I am secure. (1 John 4:17-18)

- I am CHOSEN. (Ephesians 1:4)

- I am loved. (1 John 3:1)

- I am forgiven and clean. (1 John 1:9)

- I am confident that God will perfect the work He has begun in me. (Philippians 1:6)

- I am Jesus’ friend. (John 15:15)... so pull up if you want to. 🙃😎

- I am more than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37)

- I am God’s handiwork, created to do good works. (Ephesians 2:10)

- I believe who God says I am...and no one else gets a vote. #PollsClosed 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
